Accreditation

The procedure for the purchase of fish products from the Chioggia wholesale fish market is via a process of accreditation.

The following tradespeople may be accredited for the market:

BUYERS:

1) Wholesale buyers of fish products,

2) retail buyers of fish products, both individual and associated,

3) businesses in the processing industry, both individual and associated, involved in the processing, storage and transformation of fish products,

4) consumer groups, communities and co-operatives plus hotel, restaurant, canteen, factory outlet managers and public establishments, buying groups and voluntary associations,

5) wholly or partially state-owned procurement and distribution groups, (state may be at a national, regional, provincial or local level) and associated groups.

SELLERS:

1) Individual or associated producers, including those not registered with trade associations, and also producer associations created according to current EU regulations,

2) fish product wholesale traders, representatives, agents and auctioneers who must be present on the registers held by the Chamber of Commerce for Industry, Craftsmanship and Agriculture,

3) businesses in the processing industry, both individual and associated, involved in the processing, storage and transformation of fish products,

4) state development agencies, cooperatives and associated groups, wholly or partially state-owned procurement and distribution businesses (state may be at a national, regional, provincial or local level) and associated groups.
